Hi, my name is Nina and my flock of 15 are here to show a different side to chickens.
Throughout the years chickens have been given a bad reputation, are often misunderstood, and unfortunately mistreated. The truth is chickens are extremely compassionate, empathetic, and clever creatures that I have had the honor to raise as pets.
Every one of my chickens has their own unique personality, likes, dislikes, and even interests! Their love language is food and every morning I put together fun, easy, and nutritious recipes for them to enjoy along with their everyday chicken feed. These recipes are filled with different fresh leafy greens, grains, fruits, coohgrubs, and edible plants + flowers that are foraged from our property. Watching them roam and enjoy themselves really brings me joy.
Not only are they therapeutic to be around, their poop alone provides us with rich fertilizer. Composted chicken manure is full of nutrients for grass, gardens, trees, and so much more! Chickens make such wonderful pets and will happily help out in the garden clearing out weeds, insects, and other unwanted pests.
